JUNIOR NOTES
Junior Annual Meeting 2010
Come along to the annual meeting on Wednesday March 31st at 7.30pm. The new Junior Captain will be announced, and all the fixtures and events arranged for you will be revealed!
Mickleover Juniors won the Derbyshire Junior Interclub Tournament held at Breadsall Priory last Monday (Oct 26th). Competing in teams of 4 with the best 3 stableford scores to count, the team scored an amazing 122 points (14 under par) to pip Chesterfield Juniors by 1 point. August 14th - Junior Masters
The final "major" of the season - the 36 hole Junior Masters was won by Aimee Wilson with 2 excellent scores of 64 & 65 for a net total of 129. Aimee just beat Oliver Taplin, who shot the same score, on countback over the last 18 holes - well done Aimee!
July 19th - Stableford Trophy
Yet another "first" - Andryj Borys-Smith won the Stableford Trophy with an excellent 41 points. This is his first trophy win in his second year as a Junior member.
July 3rd - Speed Junior Cup
A Major at last! Many congratulations to Chris Fernie, in his last year as a Junior member, for winning the Speed Junior Cup played last Friday. This trophy has been played for since 1959 and is considered the "Major" Junior competition in the calendar.
June 21st - Michael Charles Cup
Congratulations to Tom Hopewell for winning the Michael Charles Cup today with a net 60. Tom, who is 12 years of age, joined the club from Muir of Ord Golf Club in Scotland at the beginning of this season and plays of 24 handicap.
May 3rd - Derbyshire Girls Championship - Kedleston Park
Another major success for Mickleover Juniors! Congratulations to Aimee Wilson who won the Derbyshire Girls Championship at Kedleston Park last Sunday.
Derbyshire Junior League
Fixtures and dates arranged so far are as follows:
Saturday May 23rd Alfreton (away) 4pm
Monday June 8th Horsley Lodge (home) 5pm
Saturday June 20th Burton on Trent (home) 4pm
April 17th - Derbyshire Boys Spring Meeting - Chevin
Congatulations to Josh Tizard who came runner-up in this event, & also to Chris Rippon on his recent appointment as Captain of the Derbyshire Under 14's team.
April 7th - Derbyshire U16 Championships - Broughton Heath
Congratulations to Mark Delaney for winning the under 16's championships at Broughton Heath. This means the trophy is retained by Mickleover following Joe Coyle's success in this event last year
Junior Captain 2009
Congratulations to OLIVER WALTON, who was announced as the new Junior Captain at the Junior AGM. Ollie plays off 10 handicap.
Junior Annual Meeting
The Junior meeting will take place on Wednesday April 1st at 7.00pm. The new Junior Captain will be announced at this meeting. Junior members will receive an invitation to this meeting, along with the fixture lists.

Men’s Locker Room
Just a reminder that any items left lying around in the locker room will be disposed of, so if you have a locker please ensure that you put everything away. If you don’t have a locker please ensure that you take everything home when you leave. There are still a few lockers available if you want one – please contact either the Managing Secretary or me.
Web Site
The golf club web site has now been upgraded, and you can look at it on www.mickleovergolfclub.com. All the fixtures and tee reservations will be kept up to date, and all the competition results will be accessible via our sister web site www.howdidido.com
The web site also has its own Junior Section, so keep a check on it to see what’s happening in your part of the club!
